Riding The Lime
Riding the Lime
Motorized rental scooters have taken over Downtown Oklahoma City. The process is very simple to rent one, all you have to do is download the Lime Scooter App, scan the code on the scooter and start riding. You can go on the Lime website (https://www.li.me) and vote to bring their scooters or bikes to your town, city, or campus!
The app has a map that tells you where the scooters are and how much battery life they have left. These scooters are perfect for a fun night/day out with friends or family. It’s recommended to wear a helmet and don’t drive on sidewalks, and NEVER ride with more than one person to a scooter. If you want to learn more about their safety guidelines, you can visit their website to get the full rules of the Limes.
Lime’s mission is simple and straightforward. They believe that all communities should have access to smart and affordable mobility. “At Lime, the engineering team is revolutionizing last-mile transportation by making tomorrow arrive a little faster. We do this by building an elegant and compelling end-to-end experience for riders, juicers, and operators while abstracting the complexity of hardware, software, infrastructure, supply positioning, and product availability.” said Christophe Chong, an engineer for Lime.
These scooters have been a hit everywhere! Amy Mullican is a University of Oklahoma Dental student who is an avid Lime scooter rider, “it’s been so helpful to have these scooters on campus! They’re very affordable since they only charge .50 cents to unlock the scooter then 7 cents per minute, perfect for poor college students like me.”
Students at East Central University are voting for Lime to bring their scooters and bikes to their campus for the Fall 2019 semester. If you’re wanting to zoom around your campus or neighborhood grab a group of friends and go vote! Lime scooters are the future of inexpensive public transportation.
